| | About artist: | The artist behind Immagine di un Azimut Nuovo (New Azimuth Imagery) is Awdno Zhevoetnay. His fascination with photography began around the age of ten and even then he experimented with unconventional composition. In his mid-teens he began painting with acrylics and he eventually began experimenting with composition in this genre as well. It was in his late teens that he began to look at subjects from different angles as well as atypical perspectives while living in southern Africa. While not producing a significant amount of work during this period the seeds of his contemporary work had begun their germination phase.
In his thirties is when both the quantity and diversity of his work began to escalate rapidly, always looking at different subjects and genres to add to his portfolio. The next step in the evolution process came when he began to experiment with computer manipulation of photographs. He saw it as a way to combine his love for unconventional painting and photography. As he continued his work with computer enhanced imagery, Awdno Zhevoetnee began to focus more on certain aspects of his developing artistic philosophy.
One aim of his work is to attempt to revitalize interest in subjects that perhaps have become mundane through the frequent visualization of the subjects via post-cards, magazines, calendars, puzzles, etc. His efforts are to take those "over-used" subjects and give the audience a new perspective of the subject not only through the use of alternate angles and composition, but also through digital manipulation of the image. In addition he often focuses on the details of some of these "over-used" subjects, bringing out aspects of the subject that may be overlooked within the larger, more conventional portrayal of the subject. His hope is that individuals will stop to look at the beauty and fascination of objects around us that we may fail to notice or take for granted. He also photographs subjects that may not be considered esthetically pleasing and through the use of the techniques described above, attempts to produces a viable work of art. In essence his driving force is to produce novel imagery--images from a new perspective--Imagery of a New Azimuth.

All images are sold as limited editions only. Sixty prints of each image will be issued.
The purchaser will be provided with a certificate of authenticity upon request to include the image title, artist name, the date of issuance as well the issue number of the limited edition.

All images are available as black and white prints also issued as limited editions.
At additional cost, the artist can be commissioned to work with the discriminating buyer to produce an image of the subject that varies in colors and/or style. This will be printed as a special edition, 1/1.
