Pete is the Show Co-ordinator for Jefferson Arts Gallery in Jefferson County, Florida and holds degrees in Commercial Art and Computer Graphics. Pete's work has appeared in many shows and galleries. | | About art: | It seems that many people want to hear an artist wax poetic about his or her art. 'What does it mean?' they say, 'What are you trying to say?'.
Well I guess some artists are philosophical or are making a political statement but, in most cases, I am not.
What I can talk about is the way in which I become intrigued with the process or the medium itself. How does it respond? How can I achieve a given effect? Perhaps I want to draw or paint a thing with a certain feel to it for no other reason than I want to get it out of my system. Or perhaps, I want to find out for myself how a certain nuance is obtained. My aims are not especially lofty except on rare occasion. Obviously, certain affinities eventually make themselves apparent. But basically, I simply enjoy pushing the paint (or whatever) around and seeing what can be done with it. |
