| Description: | Firebug in front of a Vokcano, Acrylic Collage, 15,7x11,8 inch, 2007, 200 Euro. Can we trust our eyes, if from calyces obviously people faces look at us? We are used to animate nature with terms from people anatomy. We speak of bloom head, of the mountain nose, call flowers girl eye or as hollow tooth. The behavior researcher Otto König takes such designations like also the interpretation of vegetable education as imitations of our physiognomie to the proof for the "dummy visibility" of humans: for our inclination to in-watch something into nature. Thus the shown orchid blossom was interpreted simple by the artist as a "fire devil", there it floats over a fervor fall of lava (here: Fire hole Mauna Ulu on Harwai). Here the lava runs several hundred meters broadly over the edge of a crater hole and flows off like carrier mash, while a chicken (right down in the picture) observes this nature spectacle. |
