|Description:||"Crucifixion in Auschwitz" is a pencil drawing inspired from Primo Levy's famous book and an artistic interpretation of the inexpressible horror in a personal expressionist, cubist and symbolist style. |
In the foreground is the face of the bruised Man, tormented by pain and despair, crucified on the Auschwitz barbed wires like Jesus on the Cross ; in the background is the monstruous face of Medusa shaped by the enourmous cloud of human ashes coming from "the death chimneys". This controversial work of art is a personal vision of the Shoah but also a real philosophical and spiritual thought about the contemporary Man in our present-day society : how can we stay a Human being facing the monstruosity of others, how can we keep Faith and Hope facing the most unbearable suffering ?...
